Our Process

Each project at Vermont Carpentry Designs is unique and custom-designed to your specifications. To give you an understanding of how we work, we’ve outlined the major steps in the process.


We begin by scheduling a meeting — in person, by phone, or by email — to review your requirements in detail. During this conversation, we outline a project description with dimensions, type of wood, stains and finishes, and other specifics. Depending on your location, we’ll determine the best way to deliver and install the completed item(s).

All work is custom-designed for you but at times it’s helpful to see photos or pictures from magazines and books that depict your project.


From this in-depth discussion, we create a detailed quote for you. Precision is important to us and to you, thus taking time to check measurements is essential.


Once the contract is signed, we require a 50% down payment to get started, with the balance due two weeks before delivery. We accept check, money order, and online payments.


We will keep you informed as your project takes shape, keeping in touch via email.

Delivery and Installation

Details of delivery and installation are discussed at the time the contract is signed.

Vermont Carpentry Designs provides free delivery within a 60 mile radius of Brattleboro. We will install for you as well, at an extra charge. All customers have the option of picking up their completed item.

For customers further afield, shipping is available.


Once complete, we’ll provide simple care instructions for your new cabinets or other furniture, so you can keep them looking good for many years to come.
